Technological Advancement Spreads like Fire in Today’s Generation

There are many ways of knowing about the outcomes of these gadgets, according to the explanations regarding internet video versus broadcast television.

Technological advancement spreads like fire in today’s generation...

From cell phones to computers and televisions to laptops, all of them are very useful to our day-to-day living. To be globally competitive, one must get acquainted with these gadgets.

One way of using this so-called technological advancement is the “spreading of news and information.” The age of newspapers is already done, now a new era has come with the internet and television.

Two of the most famous and widely spread devices are the internet and television. If one wants to impose information on gadgets to the public, these two are what you need. However, which of the two are more effective?

Television is somewhat a source of entertainment. It is now a part of the daily lives of Filipinos. Now, there are three major stations vying for the people’s attention. However, the problem with television is that…it is not connected worldwide. You have to connect first to a cable company, and not all can view your video or information you have posted all the time because it is scheduled.

Internet is also the ace in this field. From music uploads, picture downloads, online chatting and video posting. Name it and you all have it. When you post a video on the net, then it can be accessed worldwide all the time.

Technology nowadays is continuously improving!

Gadgets such as PSP, MP3, computers, and many more are commonly used. All of them are invented to make one’s life easier.

Technology affects human beings, most especially to students. In fact, students utilize computers for making their projects and assignments. They can surf over the internet for more information. Communication is also a factor, that’s the reason why computers are made. Through computers, communication is easily conducted from one place to another place. But, are all gadgets used for good?

Technology is also used for having fun like for instance, computer games. These are indispensable to everyone, especially children in order for them to play different sorts of games and to have fun. Unfortunately, children and adults are abusing the so-called technology. Because of their games' addiction, their grades are affected.

Computers and other gadgets are useful and, at the same time, harmful in our daily living. But remember, too much usage of gadgets can lead to games’ addiction and failure. Never forget that regret comes in the end. What about the integration of technology in education, particularly in curriculum?

As far as education is concerned, the integration of technology in education is no longer a "novel" notion. Because technology has become such an integral part of society, it is essential to integrate its use in education in a variety of ways. The use of computer technology has moved beyond computer assisted instruction in the form of tutorials or drill and practice.

Today's technology can provide teachers and students with opportunities for teaching and learning that were impossible in the past. Computers can be used as devices for communicating with people literally a world apart. They can be used as tools to create instructional materials or as presentation devices to provide information in ways never before possible.

These two are only a few of the things that technology has given to us. No matter what happens, both are useful in our lives.

Will the TV become passing fad in this highly evolutionary internet age?

The 20th century has been a witness to the growing technological innovations and advancements. With this current trend, it gives light to an all-new issue. Will the TV become passing fad in this highly evolutionary internet age? With the rise of internet video, servicing the world of broadcast media, may have found itself a worthy adversary. As the debates go on, a very simple question with a highly difficult response comes to mind—is it CNN.com or CNN on cable? It seems that a mere choice separates us from getting the latest news at the freshest instant.

Both TV and internet video offer many alluring spectacles, advantages and scenarios. The quest for knowledge and news sense has become quite convenient, thanks to the wide use of TV and internet media. Back to the time where people relied only on newspapers and word-of-mouth to become updated with the latest newsfeeds, it seems that the people of today have been highly fortunate to witness these glorious inventions.

The TV, first conceived in the 1950’s, has become the most liked form of broadcasting; overwhelming radio, only its 5th year of introduction, the TV is sure to be an exceptional invention. The box-shaped contraption has alerted us and made us up-to-date with the latest facts and figures for up to more than 50 years now, but may the king of broadcast media now be challenged by an amateur foe?

Internet video has come a long time since the internet was first created, made by then CERN physicist Tim Berners-Lee in the 1970’s. The internet has now left the areas of research and development to become widely promulgated in the use of almost all activities of everyday life. Numerous video hosting sites have provided all-out means in order for us to discover facts at a click of the mouse; surely, then the internet video phenomenon has made its way inside of epitomes of living.

In conclusion to this, whether we like it or not each of us is bound to use the TV or internet video service, we’re sure to find unique advantages and disadvantages. In whatever endeavor we choose to pursue in, we should always remember that if God had not inspired these scientists and prolific inventions to think outside of the boxes, we might still be hunting for food or wearing out-of-date cloths. Kudos to technology!

PROS AND CONS. A student can learn many things about computer. Thus, the benefits are: processing skills when learning to write, working on computer fosters collaboration between students and teacher as facilitator in the classroom, utilizing computers can help others, promoting problem solving skills, increasing responsibility and independence and having a natural form of breakthrough and often learning by trial and error methods. On the other hand, there are disadvantages of using computer. A student will get addicted to it. Using said computer may ruin his focus on the lessons and on other things to be done everyday not only in school but also at home.

Finally, the title cited above needs an honest replication by everyone. Are computers considered a friend or a foe? What do you think?

Memories of Easter--Parts 1 & 2 with Kabanhawan Festival

"With this, one of the greatest feasts here in Cebu that can’t be avoided is Easter. This is largely held in the local municipality. We call this event as the “Kabanhawan Festival.” This is only the municipality wherein the greatest feast is being held every year, particularly in the month of April."

Memories of Easter--Part I

Easter is when the day where our Savior was reincarnated by the Holy Spirit. Today’s momentous event is to celebrate His “Rebirth”--being a Resurrected Being. Many people, especially the Christians, usually celebrate every year this Easter through dancing, praying and other important rituals. This is the time also to open our souls and hearts to our Lord, Jesus Christ, for the good health and prosperity.

Christian followers are the experts in such a way that Easter is being celebrated. Focusing on His Rebirth, our Redeemer, it should be stringently observed in the month of April. We devote our time and efforts to celebrate and to pan out whatever activities to be initiated during Easter in order for us to recollect the significance of it to the devotees or religious people in general. It is one way of becoming closer to Him and makes ourselves devoted constantly and as dedicated children. We have to nurture the Easter activities by taking part actively and getting involved—just to experience and feel the true meaning of Easter.

Easter memories are really amazing and the memories which we can never be forgotten even in the ancient practices are deeply rooted in our hearts. Our God, The Almighty, saves us from our transgressions or inequities, and we have to find ways to blot out our sins. Resorting to being committed such a sin is inevitable, but if we are dedicated and so much devoted to Him, God loves us eternally despite our shortcomings and weaknesses. Unending love is scattered everywhere just to remember God and to make everyone eternal concerning spiritual activities and righteously follow what our Savior has redeemed for us.

Aside from Christmas celebration, Easter is also a special day because Jesus Christ is not born but He is really reborn. It is also the time when we sanctify ourselves with God for the eternal blessings. He has done so much to mankind—redeeming us from inequities. Due to our warm and heartfelt prayers, He always forgives us no matter what our sins are.

Every time when Easter is approaching, our family members pray hard so that we will be forgiven and also we pray for the blessings--everything what the Lord has done for us. Yet, Easter is not only the time when we do our prayers for God, but also to the days where God is present at all times.

Memories of Easter—Part II
Easter is really a great feast as practiced by the Catholic Church. In this Season of the Church Calendar, we celebrate as Christ rose from the dead. From the start, He saved us from sins and his father in heaven also saved Him from death.

Philippines has been so popular or well-known for being one of the largest Christian countries in Asia in celebrating Easter. This proves that Filipinos really love God and we are regarded by many people outside of the Philippines as religious people. We celebrate a lot of feast that is in celebration with the religious people and celebration from the church calendar.

With this, one of the greatest feasts here in Cebu that can’t be avoided is Easter. This is largely held in the local municipality. We call this event as the “Kabanhawan Festival.” This is only the municipality wherein the greatest feast is being held every year, particularly in the month of April.

With the lined-up events, first of this event is the Sugat. This is to be held on the dawn of Easter Sunday. It is mostly to be held at the church or the oval grounds of the local municipality. This place is very crowded with people from all walks of life who come and celebrate with the townsfolk. In the morning there will be games and egg hunting contests. In the afternoon there will be street dancing and ritual showdown. This is one of the greatest feasts that we celebrate in honor of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who has risen from the dead. And that is what Easter all about in the Municipality of Minglanilla where the Cebuanos celebrate yearly in honor of the Resurrected Being—The Almighty.

Japan, China, India and America follow the trends of the early Filipinos

“It can never be denied that the foreign people influenced the Filipinos so much. The natural traditions of the “anitos” were changed. Christianity was spread all over the archipelago. Given such a horrifying occupation by the aforementioned foreigners, except for those invaders who were so amiable and compassionate, the Filipinos remained faithful and were proven religious in nature, thus it wasn’t hard for the Spaniards to capture their taste.”

To epitomize the whole scenario of the early Filipinos, including Philippine history, American rule was interrupted briefly during World War II when the Japanese occupied the islands from 1941 to 1945. After the war ended, the United States granted the Philippines independence on July 4, 1946, ending nearly 50 years of American government.

Filipinos are known for their tradition to welcome their guests warmly in their home. Filipinos came from three main races, namely, the Malays, the Indus and the Itas. However, throughout the ages, Philippines has been colonized by different countries such as Spain, Japan and the U.S. Due to this colonization, we have been mixed by different races.

The first invaders to colonize the Philippines were the Spaniards. This country was reigned by them for over 333 years. Their main reason for doing this was that the 3 initial letters like GGG—gold, glory and God. During their time, women were treated unequally and Filipinos were stripped off by their rights in their own homeland. We have also adopted many things, especially the amalgamated West and East cultures from them, and the most important thing of all was Christianity.

The second invaders to come were the Americans. They reigned for 48 years. During their time of colonization, education was treated as the first priority. Their gift for the Philippines was utterly intended for peace--and that is democracy.

The third invaders to reign were the Japanese. They spread terror throughout the nation. Many were killed during their shocking and brutal occupation. All they left for us was the experience of having death near you.

All of these nations contributed a lot to what the Philippines now is all about. Our nation is very well-known for its connotative name as Pearl of the Orient Seas, along with its rich marine resources and lush vegetation. The Philippines is the only Christian country in Asia; thus we should be proud for the traditions and rich history of our country. That’s the reason why the Filipinos have amalgamated cultures in consequence of occupation and it made our country very famous a long time ago after all the invading nations had returned homes to reassess Philippine history and traditions.

In Tagaloglang.com information, it said that Spanish rule of the Philippines began soon after the explorer Ferdinand Magellan discovered the islands in 1521. Magellan had been searching for a shorter route to Moluccas, the Spice Islands. Admiral Ruy Lopez de Villalobos named the archipelago Las Filipinas after King Philip II of Spain, and in 1565 helped build the first Spanish settlement on the main island of Luzon.

It said also that the Spanish conquistadores reigned for nearly 400 years until 1898 when the United States defeated Spain in the Spanish-American War. As a result of the Treaty of Paris, Spain surrendered the Philippines, marking the end of Spanish colonial rule and the beginning of American control. In 1901, future U.S. president William Howard Taft became the first civilian governor of the islands.

Philippines is well-known as one of Asia’s greatest historical stories of all time!

The country itself has marked a big spot on the historical genre of Asia. Being conquered by the Spaniards for such a long time is yet, unforgettable, and worth-remembering for. Historical sites are preserved and other significant "societal roles," as well as deeply-rooted history recollections are totally on the go with mixed traditions.

It can never be denied that the foreign people influenced the Filipinos so much. The natural traditions of the “anitos” were changed. Christianity was spread all over the archipelago. Given such a horrifying occupation by the aforementioned foreigners, except for those invaders who were so amiable and compassionate, the Filipinos remained faithful and were proven religious in nature, thus it wasn’t hard for the Spaniards to capture their taste.

Food, clothing, houses—and more, brought about by the innocence of the natives, other countries like Japan, China, India and America followed the trend. Filipinos, on the other hand, lost their nationalism. The main reason for this is that they followed and, at the same time, adapted the foreign touch.

The touch, if we expound more on the details, simply means awareness over political matters or contact with the global issues that affect the entire nation. All the political affairs should be highly regarded as confidential matters just to pave the way for the state of being aware of a situation or in contact with someone with high influence and position.

However, some tribes remained consistent and continued their lives with the old thing. They remained as natural as before. With their cultural knowledge, they showcased tribal dances and traditions. They preserved their culture. In fact, many people either foreign or local were impressed and were hooked on unique history and traditions, most especially on their cultural performances.

Filipinos at heart have remained culturally unadulterated, and united. In addition to this explanation, they have survived whatever calamities, trials, tribulations and other horrifying aftermath of earthquake, etc. The cultures have been taken care of, highly instituted and preserved by them from generation to generation. Such cultures were of the most significance or attention and they were considered a “gift” and something to be proud of.
