Code of Ethics in Philippine Journalism

Practice in a training school in journalism or through diligent self-study should be utterly quadrated with the canons of journalism and principles of journalism which will serve as general guide to all engaged journalists, most especially those media practitioners in the Philippines. Yes, it is true that we have the universal principles of journalism and canons of journalism, but the journalists should not resort to ignorance or nonchalance and must be aware at all times of the contents and practices as far as the real field of journalism is concerned. The canons of journalism take center stage at all times. They also serve as a “moral guide,” not only the journalists but also the people outside of the print and broadcast media industry. There is nothing to worry about, as long as the writer’s conscience is very clear. In the end, nobody can question all the writers because they follow what they think is right for the “good of all” and perhaps for the benefits of everyone.
